Behind the ScenesEdit

Gordon Rennie was inspired to write Aquila from his long-time love of ancient Rome. Inspired by Blackhawk, he believed the Roman elements were hidden by the sci-fi trappings of the previous strip, though like Blackhawk, Aquila has lost his soul[1].

Publishing HistoryEdit

After publication in 2000AD, the first story was reprinted in American comics format by Rebellion:
