Brian Ruckley is a British novelist who wrote Rogue Trooper for IDW[1]. Tom Waltz had been in contact with Brian and invited him to pitch for the series. Brian received confirmation on his birthday.

Brian read 2000AD when he lived in the UK, his favourite Rogue stories being the original (which he read when it was originally published), Marauders and All Hell on the Dix-I Front and thinks Sláine is a good candidate to be adapted to the US market.
