In 1981 a deal was stuck between IPC Magazines and the Daily Star newspaper to publish a weekly strip on Saturdays. Richard Burton was given 12 days to deliver the first strip for publication and so heavily edited for first published Dredd strip, Judge Whitey, into 9 panels[1].
