Gort Hyman was the husband of Hester Hyman, a pro-Democracy activist who was killed by the Judges after taking over a live television broadcast (Judge Dredd: "Letter from a Democrat").
During the lead-up to the Democratic Charter March in 2109, Gort spoke publicly in support of his late wife's ideals. Judge Dredd then visited him with Academy of Law enrolment orders for his two sons. He then spoke out against the March (Judge Dredd: "Revolution").
