Inferno was a sport that gained popularity at around the time that Aeroball's popularity waned[1].

The game was played in an arena called the firebowl and featured a scoring area called a cave[2].

Players included strike-fliers, strike-bikers and cavemen[2].

A 'cave-in' was achieved by getting a ball into the opponent team's cave. Doing so when the cave-in was scored by a flier who had touched down inside the score-semi was worth three points, a 'maximum cave-in'[3].

Rule Thirty-Seven said that any Inferno team failing to field a minimum of six men must concede the game[4].
