Synopsis[]
Part One[]
A videotape detailing the compu-puncture process is stoeln from the MACH headquarters. Probe is on hand to give chase, but is unable to stop prevent the thieves from escaping with the tape. A few weeks later while walking in London, Probe is attacked by someone else imbued with hyperpower. It is a young woman who takes off running while Probe gives chase.[1]
Part Two[]
Probe follows the woman into an Underground railway station, and from there through a tunnel to a station closed for repairs. They fight and the female agent gets the drop on Probe, but her emotions override her computer and she can't kill him. Having failed her mission she chooses to defect rather than go back. Probe takes her to Sharpe who discovers she is Tanya Maski and her inbuilt computer is less advanced tham MACH 1's, but her hyperpower is pitched higher making her more likely to burn out. He sends them both back to the base where she was giver her power to destroy it. While travelling by train, they are identified by local guards. They make to jump from the train, but they are high up on the side of a mountain.[2]
Part Three[]
They leap from the train and fall through the roof of a local peasant house. They head to the base on foot, covering the 100 miles using their hyperpower. They vault over the fence, disable the guards, and intimidate the gatekeeper into giving them the code to enter the building. They get to the vault, and while Probe is dealing with a dog imbued with hyperpower of its own, Maski uses a code that Sharpe gave her to open the vault door. Inside the vault they find Dr. Horowitz, the scientist in charge of the project, with a cluster of hyperpowered children,[3]
Part Four[]
Horowitz uses the children to overpower Probe and Maski. Maski is taken away to be executed, but one of the kids loosens his grip and Probe manages to escape. He rescues Maski from a firing squad and sends her to destroy the tapes while he fights off the hyper-children. After she has destroyed the tapes, she sees Probe being overwhelmed by the youngsters. Ignoring the protests from her computer, she pushes a nearby tank into the control room, killing Horowitz and breaking his hold over the children, stopping their attack on Probe. The effort is too much for her, however, and she dies. Back at HQ, Probe confronts Sharpe about how he knew the combination to the vault and says he's going to find out.[4]
