Prog 19 was released in the same week as the 2000AD Summer Special Supercomic, the first 2000AD seasonal special. The cover was the first in a series of 25 Supercovers which depicted random scenes from the future, unrelated to any strip, but given some text context in or near the Nerve Centre. In terms of the regular strips, Dan Dare & Harlem Heroes both continued their long-running stories, while Flesh Book One reaches its finale, becoming the first strip to finish a run. It would be replaced in Prog 20 by Shako, and wouldn't return to the comic until Prog 86. Invasion, Judge Dredd & M.A.C.H.1 all continued their runs of one-off stories.
This was Jan Shepheard's last issue as Art Editor. The position would remain vacant (or at least uncredited, according to Barney[2]), until Prog 58 when Kevin O'Neill would step up from Assistant Art Editor.
