The Devil You Know was a Judge Dredd comic story originally published in 2000 AD. It consisted of four parts, serialised between Progs 750 and 753.
Summary[]
In the lead-up to the Referendum, most political observers are certain that the result will be heavily in favour of a return to democracy.
Judge Dredd finds himself the target of a number of attacks. One murder attempt produces evidence that the people behind the attacks are part of Justice Department. It is revealed that a group of Judges are angry at Dredd for pushing for the Referendum, including Grice and Crosby.
In a rare display of extra-legal force, Dredd beats Grice, angry that the rogue Judge has undermined the respect that citizens have for the Judges.
